I was born and raised in Beijing, where food is more than just a meal — it's a celebration of culture, family, and history. My earliest memories are filled with the happiness of helping my mom and grandma in the kitchen as a kid and the vibrant flavors of our traditional dishes. Moving to America as a teenager, tasting my childhood dishes eased my homesickness. As time went by, I grew a deep appreciation for the culinary heritage of my homeland.
When I started living off-campus for the first time, I found solace and connection in the kitchen. In my small kitchen, I discovered a way to blend traditional Chinese recipes with diverse culinary techniques. Cooking became therapeutic for me—an escape from the stress of school. I was excited to get fresh ingredients and try new recipes when I had days off from school.
Through this blog, I aim to share recipes and cooking tips that promote healthy eating and review local food spots—coffee shops, brunch places, bars, etc. Additionally, I will share some thoughts related to food as I believe food is a universal language that transcends borders and brings people together.
