As a fan of tacos, I always treat myself some fish tacos after work on Tuesdays (or any day). These tacos are perfect weekday dinner - easy and quick to make. With this recipe, you can have a delicious taco dinner under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
One piece of tilapia fillet
1/2 of a medium-sized red onion
2 teaspoons of chili powder
1 teaspoons of salt
1/2 teaspoons of crushed red pepper
2 teaspoons of olive oil
Street-style tortilla (or other types of tortilla)
Guacamole (optional)
Limes (optional)
Directions
Half the tilapia fillet. Cut each half into one-inch cubes.
Slice the red onion.
Turn on to medium-high heat. Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil to the frying pan or wok.
After 20 seconds, add the crushed red pepper to the pan. After another 10 seconds, add the tilapia cubes.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder to one side of the tilapia. Let it cook for 2 minutes. After flip the tilapia cubes, add 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder to the other side.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Let the tilapia cook for 2 minutes. You can flip the cubes more than one time or cook them longer if the tilapia cubes still appear pink.
Add the sliced onions and the rest of the olive oil. Flip the pan multiple times. Add the rest of the chili powder and the salt.
Let everything cook for 3 minutes. Flip the pan for every 1 minute. You can cook longer if the onions haven't softened.
Turn off the heat. Put everything into a bowl or plate. Serve with street-style tortilla, guacamole, green, and limes.
